4. Not wearing underwear May Reduce irritation and chafing
You can only think how irritating things will be when you're working out if underwear collects sweat and dampness throughout the day. If you chaff easily, try going out without your underwear to see if it makes a difference. If you wear looser shorts or sweatpants so the air can flow, you may notice that it lessens chafing because there is less contact between skin and fabric.
But it's a personal preference and won't work for everyone. You might discover that wearing underwear keeps you more comfortable by absorbing or wicking away sweat. Whatever you wear, it is advised to take it off immediately after an exercise as continuing to wear wet, moisture-absorption garments can raise your risk of vaginal infections.
5. Not wearing underwear Helps relieve dampness and odor
If you are already prone to infections, wearing underwear is unlikely to increase your risk of developing UTIs (urinary tract infections). But if you have a lot of discharge and don't want your wet underwear riding up around your bits, it might be something to think about as an option. Not wearing underwear may be a good choice if you sweat a lot or have a lot of discharge. Underwear-induced moisture in the lower region can begin to smell quite unpleasant. Not wearing underwear enables the sweat to drain and eliminates unpleasant odors.
Measures To Take If You Don't Wear Undergarments
Going commando won't magically solve all of your genital issues. There are still some precautions you need to take:
- Don't go commando wearing tight clothing:
Tight clothing might irritate your genital areas. In fact, given the often rough material used for bottoms, they might irritate you more.
Even yet, wearing restrictive clothing that doesn't allow for proper ventilation might still lead to genital itching or yeast infections.
- Regularly wash and change your clothes:
Many bacteria live in the genital areas and anus; therefore, always wash everything that has come into contact with your genitals regularly. And always put on clean garments once it has touched those areas of your body. Always wash any clothing that comes in contact with your sensitive areas after one wear.
- Avoid putting on new clothes in stores:
You may expose yourself to bacteria and contaminants from other people trying on garments and transfer them to your crotch. And vice versa, you can transfer your bacteria or soil to the new pants you want to try at the store. You can expose yourself to an infection risk as a result.
